HOOKUPS, BREACH OF CONSENT & SEXTORTION: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

We went in wanting to talk about sex, arousal, and pleasure....with a psychiatrist specialising in psycho-sexual issues, Dr. Sandip Deshpande, Public Health Anthropologist and Sex Educator Artika Singh, and Psychologist Arjun Gupta who specialises in Men's Mental Health! What we ended up talking about is the complete lack of sex-ed amongst youngsters, whose only exposure to sexuality is internet porn! A dangerous trend of hook-up culture that compromises safety! However, that's not all, the grey areas of consent, where someone doesn't even realise that there's been a breach! But the most dangerous of them all - sextortion! Unsuspecting whatsapp video calls and AI-generated "deepfake" videos are more common than we think! Watch to understand and remain vigilant! #sex #consent #sextortion #mentalhealth CONTACT FOR ANY SEX-RELATED ISSUES: https://www.allohealth.care/ CONTACT TO ADDRESS ISSUES RELATED TO SEXUAL ABUSE (FEMALE, MALE & LGBTQIA+) https://enfoldindia.org/ REPORT A CYBER CRIME : National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal: https://cybercrime.gov.in/ Are there laws that tackle SEXTORTION? Courtesy: https://www.legalserviceindia.com : In India, there is no explicit law that expressly covers the crime of sextortion, although numerous laws recognize one or the other aspects of sextortion. Here is a need to check whether present laws are enough to combat it. 1. The laws governing sexual harassment of women at Workplace Act 2013, aims to protect women at the workplace, and the protection is limited only to female workers, while sextortion is not gender-specific. 2. Section 354 of IPC, is a protection against sexual assault, and criminal force used to outrage the modesty of a woman, and does not cover the distinct dynamics of this crime. 3. Section 376, is a law punishing rape, done in different capacities, one of which is rape due to the abuse of authority. 4. Section 384 of IPC, a law against extortion, however, does not cover the sexual element involved with it. 5. The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. It is a gender-natural legislation, dealing with child sexual abuse. It widely addresses the cases of sexual assault but is limited to children. 6. IT Act, 2000 stipulates certain sexual offenses dealing with cybercrime, though it also does not cover the changing aspects of cybersexual crime. A FIT LIFE WITHOUT LIMBS : SHALINI SARASWATHI

It could happen to anyone... In 2012, when Shalini was 32 years old, she and her husband went to Cambodia on a holiday. She was pregnant at the time. A month after they got back, Shalini came down with high fever and had to be hospitalised! Doctors thought it was malaria or dengue but it was a rare bacterial infection known as Rickettsial with Morts, which spreads through dog ticks! Shalini lost her baby, endured multiple organ failures, and slipped into a coma. A year later, she lost both her hands and had to have her legs amputated. Today, she's not just a blade runner but a fitness enthusiast and an advocate for Disability Rights. ADOPTED KIDS & MENTAL HEALTH II DR SONYA MEHTA (PSYCHOLOGIST)

Yes, research says that adopted kids are more likely to go through mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and self-identity issues. But the good news is that these issues can be tackled in a loving environment, by speaking to other adopted children or adoptive parents or by seeking professional help (if required). We delve into some oft-asked questions in a candid chat with Psychologist Dr Sonya Mehta and look to answer some questions uppermost in the minds of some adopted kids and their adoptive parents. Helping us navigate is Ahona Chatterjee, someone who's herself adopted! #adoptedchild #mentalhealth #adoptionjourney Zen-Brain.com: India’s first independent platform that discusses #Emotions #MentalHealth #Self #Relationships #Mind #BRAIN #RewiringYourBrain #Neuroscience with the best Specialists - #DOCTORS #Psychologists #Psychiatrists #Researchers #Authors DISCLAIMER: Zen-Brain features conversations with subject experts on issues arising in their fields of expertise.
